This brilliant theologian spoke to those still alive who remembered Francis; read the other biographies; followed many traditions; and has produced a work which shows Francis in a way that only another saint can. Perhaps the most distinguished of all of Francis's followers, Bonaventure gives us insight that we can get nowhere else.
