The Roman Psalter
God Almighty

The saints throughout the ages have prayed the Roman Psalter. Prayers to God written by God Himself, the psalms are the Christian prayer par excellence. From the beginning, Christians have dedicated themselves to the psalms, sometimes every day; but more often, they have divided the psalms up such that all may be prayed within a single week. The common method of doing so in the West, the Roman Psalter, has been shared (more or less) throughout the Western Church until 1911, when most non-monastic Western clergy adopted the Pius X Psalter, which still prayed all the psalms at least once a week, but did so in a different order. Still, when the saints refer to the Psalter, they are referring to this ancient method.
To facilitate praying with these great saints, especially St. Francis, who told us how he thought the Psalter should be prayed, and which was of course by this ancient method, Goretti Publications offers these little books. Available in a Latin-only, English-only, and Latin-English edition, these psalters will hopefully be a great addition for Catholic prayer.
Praise be to Christ the King!
