St. Francis's entire life was focused on nothing so much as prayer. While he hated to see anyone poorer than he, and would literally give the shirt off his back to anyone who asked it; while he loved everything in God's creation, and sang songs to its glory; fundamentally, first and foremost, he was the herald of the Great King of all, and focused his life on prayer.
